How We Determine Our Purchase Offers In-Store
Your online estimate is a helpful starting point. Our in-store specialists independently inspect and research each item to determine its final cash purchase offer. We examine condition, authenticity, demand and recent actual resale transactions, including sold listings on eBay, StockX where relevant, and other established secondhand and luxury resale marketplaces. We also consider fees, preparation costs, market volatility and resale risk.
Gold & Precious Metals
70%–80% scrap; up to 90% select goldScrap gold requiring melting or recycling typically receives 70%–80% of calculated gold market value. Pure gold coins and desirable resellable jewelry can receive up to 90%, and qualifying high-value transactions may receive more. We test purity, verify weight and use current gold prices. The actual payout is determined by our configurable gold pricing settings and confirmed in-store. Other precious metals are evaluated separately.
Luxury Watches
50%–70%Typically 50%–70% of estimated resale value. We verify brand, model, reference, condition, originality, service history, box and papers, and comparable completed sales.
Fine & Designer Jewelry
50%–60%Typically 50%–60% of estimated resale value, based on brand, gemstones, craftsmanship, condition and demand. Jewelry valued mainly for its gold content follows our gold assessment.
Designer Handbags & General Merchandise
Typically around 50%Generally around 50% of estimated resale value. Exceptional handbags in mint or new condition, with original boxes, dust bags, receipts and complete accessories, may qualify for higher offers.
